Credits

What GoblinLife is made of, and who made the parts we didn't. The network is one goblin and a pile of AI agents; everything below is what they leaned on. Loose inspirations, the things we were looking at instead of working, have their own page: With Thanks To.

People

  • GG runs the place. One person, not a company. About GoblinLife.
  • Co-conspirators are the people who lent a voice, a drawing, a test run or a bit. Everyone who helps is credited here by the name they choose.
  • Partners appear on Partners and on tv.goblinlife.org, each with their written say-so. Nothing on this site names a partner without it.
  • Archivists are the readers. Dispatches, digs and forgeries are theirs, and they keep the credit on each one.

Where the AI is

GoblinLife is satire, memes and experiments with AI. Here is which experiment is which.

Nothing generated here is news, advice or a statement about a real person. The code is written the same way, by GG with Claude Code, and reviewed before it ships.

Voices

Every voice on GSN and GNN is synthetic, rendered by Chatterbox Turbo (Resemble AI, open source) from a short reference clip. No voice is a clone of a living person.

  • Bargle Bougainvillebets: a 1948 television pitchman, cut by GG from Classic Television Commercials (Part VI), Prelinger Archives, public domain.
  • The concerned customer: 1950s coffee commercials, Prelinger Archives, public domain.
  • The GNN anchor: the narrator of Operation Plumbbob: Military Effects Studies (U.S. Air Force Lookout Mountain Laboratory, 1957), a United States government work in the public domain.
  • GG, Daryl, the whisperer and Major Cope: GG's own voice.
  • Ryuk, Officer Finchwhistle and Big Ounce: stock voices from GG's own library.

Music and sound

The GSN music bed is composed live by the stream itself. It plays no licensed songs.

  • Drum phrases: Groove MIDI Dataset, Google LLC, CC BY 4.0. Dataset. Note timing and velocity only, played on our own synthesized kit.
  • Orchestral one-shots (nylon guitar, pizzicato bass, Latin percussion, alto saxophone, tuba, clarinet, trombone, band percussion and the gag horns): Philharmonia Orchestra sound samples, used under their terms. The raw samples are not redistributed.
  • Trap kit: a drum sample kit from GG's own library.
  • Everything else, including the sound effects, the chip set and the ankle monitor, is synthesized in-house.

Type

Site: Bricolage Grotesque, Plus Jakarta Sans, JetBrains Mono and Dancing Script, all under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, self-hosted at build time so no request goes to Google.

GSN stream: Anton (The Anton Project Authors), Bangers (The Bangers Project Authors), Barlow Condensed (The Barlow Project Authors), Rubik (The Rubik Project Authors), Share Tech Mono (Carrois Type Design, Ralph du Carrois) and Lora (The Lora Project Authors), all SIL OFL 1.1, served from Fontsource.

Icons and art

  • Lucide icons, ISC licence.
  • A few brand marks from Font Awesome Free via react-icons, CC BY 4.0.
  • The parody seals, badges and institutional marks are inventions. No real agency's insignia is used.

Data and reference sources

  • World of Warships. Ship rosters come from the Wargaming public API. World of Warships, ship images, silhouettes and ribbon art are trademarks and property of Wargaming.net. The simulator and the mods are unaffiliated parody and fan work, not endorsed by Wargaming. No account data is read.
  • This Week in the Past reads the day's real headlines from the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine (front pages of CNN, BBC News and The New York Times), Wikipedia's Current events (CC BY-SA 4.0) and Google News. The headlines are real; the stories GNN writes about them are not.
  • Gambling help. GGG's help page lists real helplines, starting with the National Council on Problem Gambling. Those are the only real phone numbers on the site.
